Why Create These Wallpapers?
I've long been a fan of the Dune chronicles by Frank Herbert and had never thought to find
another book series that would even come close to the majestic scope, depth and intelligence
of Herbert's works. Then, by chance, a dear friend put me onto the Kushiel series and I was
instantly sucked in, blown away and utterly mesmerized by the characters and world Ms. Carey
so masterfully crafts.
This is a set of books I will lovingly keep for the rest of my life, finding a place alongside my well-worn, oft-read Dune paperbacks, and the money spent on them is without a doubt the best investment I've made in reading material in decades.
It is my joy at finding something so well-written amidst the glut of paperback mediocrity, and my singular affection for the beautifully rendered heroine of the first three books, Phedre no Delaunay, that led me to create these Kushiel's Legacy themed desktop wallpapers. I hope you find them as enjoyable to look at on your computers as I found making them.
